Inspiration

The Futura model is inspired by the Futura font created by the German designer Paul Renner in 1928 who, based on the principles of the Bauhaus such as rationalism and functionalism, designed this character starting from elementary geometric shapes such as triangles, circles and squares. The result was an elegant, simple, efficient and extremely readable font. After its creation it soon became a perfect compromise between tradition and modernity.

Description

Biocetate: The frame is in Mazzucchelli M49 bioacetate, 100% recyclable and biodegradable, without chemical agglomerates to avoid allergic reactions and its natural origin is also revealed to the touch with a pleasant “warm and silky effect”.

Front frame: The design of the front starts from the same principles as the font following that simplicity and linearity of shapes that have made the Futura font “immortal”. The equal thin thicknesses in the horizontal and vertical lines make it extremely clean, sober and elegant.

Temples: “sail” model, takes its name from the shape that resembles a rudder bar. The perforated “o” taken from the Good’s logo is reproduced at the end.

Anima (core): visible from the outside thanks to the transparency of the acetates and made to an exclusive Good’s design, it reproduces an inscription in relief – Good’s payoff “the right way to look at things” – developed from right to left, like the lead lines produced from the ancient Linotype printing machine, invented in 1886, and defined by Thomas Edison as “the eighth wonder of the world”.

Curiosity

The font also made history because the plate left on the moon in July 1969 after the first lunar landing was engraved with this font. On the plate, rigorously in Futura, we read in capital letters: “Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969, A. D. We came in peace for all mankind”, i.e. “Here men from planet Earth have put first set foot on the moon in July of 1969. We have come in peace for all mankind”.
